This program can be supported by the First Five Commission as it targets safety for children under 5. This commission offers mini and maxi grants from $5,000 upwards.

Many agencies are interested in the safety of young children. Your local Police or Sheriff’s Office, Department of Human Services, Public Health Department, District Attorney’s Office, and Mental Health Departments are usually on their county’s Child Death Review Team.

This team reviews all deaths of persons under the age of 18. A collaborative of this team and your local American Red Cross chapter is a good mix and a good fix for obtaining a grant to get your program started.
